Volunteer Opportunities
The Mid-County Kiwanis Club strives to offer its membership a variety of community service projects that appeal to a wide range of interests and abilities. Members are also encouraged to find new volunteer opportunities with their favorite non-profit organizations for the club to enjoy.
Leadership Development
Members are challenged to strengthen their leadership skills by holding elected and appointed offices on the club, state, and international levels. Leaders are responsible for everything from planning events, managing finances, reporting activities, representing the club to the community and organization, and much more. Mid-County Kiwanis will only be selecting a full board of officers and committee chairpersons once it formally charters, so all members have equal opportunity to be leaders!
Local and Global Focus
Mid-County Kiwanis is active in the local community on the club level, throughout the state on the district level, and across the globe on the international level. Each has its own unique service partners, projects, and programs as well as its own conventions, conferences, and other activities, and membership dues go toward supporting their functions.
Liability Insurance and Discounts
A portion of the dues that members pays goes directly back to them in the form of liability coverage in case of injury during an official Kiwanis function. Kiwanians also enjoy many discounts and deals at various retailers and companies.
Service Leadership Programs
Kiwanis has the unique ability to impact the lives of individuals of all ages and abilities through its service leadership programs. Mid-County Kiwanis is looking forward to sponsoring a Kiwanis Family club - K-Kids clubs for elementary school children; Builders Clubs for adolescents; Key Clubs for teenagers; Circle K’s for collegians; and Aktion Clubs for adults living with disabilities – once we official charter.
